In nature’s own festival of Spring, wattle trees stuff the landscape full of bright yellow blooms. The wattle are naturalised all through the suburbs, the roadsides and the hills. It’s a bit like Japan’s cherry blossom season, in yellow. The flowers are little spheres with rays of delicate stamen, like miniature suns.
