In nature’s own festival of Spring, wattle trees stuff the landscape full of bright yellow blooms. The wattle are naturalised all through the suburbs, the roadsides and the hills. It’s a bit like Japan’s cherry blossom season, in yellow. The flowers are little spheres with rays of delicate stamen, like miniature suns. I can’t resist the joy of them.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn this particular piece, I loved the pairing with white cherry blossoms in this country wayside, and the sense of sudden, intense colours of Spring against the soft neutral tones of the dry grasses.
