Modern Living Room Inspiration by Maret Larnach Styling
When Maret Larnach Styling approached this project, the goal was clear: create a space that felt warm, soulful and inviting—somewhere a potential buyer could instantly imagine living with the people they love.
The starting point was not the sofa or the furniture. It was the artwork.
Designed Around the Art
In this sleek room with high ceilings, white walls and a neutral foundation, Makia by Amanda Skye became the point of difference. Its warm, expressive colour brought life to the space and informed every styling decision that followed.
“We wanted to add warmth to the space, so we curated everything else around the piece,” Maret explains. Layers, tactile details and considered accents were added to create an interior that feels quietly eclectic, while still polished and elevated.
The generous 80 × 120 cm framed canvas has the presence needed for a large wall, transforming an open, minimal room into one with personality and emotional warmth. Rather than simply filling empty space, the artwork gives the room a focal point—and a feeling.
Art That Makes You Feel Something
For property stylists, finding artwork that offers both impact and practicality matters. “High ceilings, white walls and neutral spaces were the perfect opportunity to hang this piece,” says Maret. “It’s tricky to find beautiful artwork of this scale that can be delivered within a timeframe we need.”
Her advice for homeowners is simple: have fun. Create a gallery wall, choose something oversized for a generous wall, and let your personality shine. “Art should make you feel something and make you smile each time you see it.”
