Angie Summa Original Artwork
Angie Summa, now an celebrated artist living on the Gold Coast, grew up in sparkling harbour city of Sydney. After a successful career as a television producer, then photographer, Angie picked up a paintbrush for the first time during the pandemic and quickly turned her isolation passion project into her new life purpose.
Angie’s artworks were featured on the renovation juggernaut TV show, The Block, in 2022 and host Scott Cam even invited her onto the series as an ‘artist in residence’ to create some unique paintings for the show and for a contestant challenge.
She draws inspiration from the natural beauty in the everyday and sees the world through a play of light and shade and always with a sense of intrigue and good humour. She likes to embrace the joy and innocence of her inner child to create joy filled compositions, sometimes soft and delicate, other times bold and energetic, always intuitive and thoughtful.
Her process is varied using soft detailed precision as well as broad brush strokes and emotive mark making. Angie’s use of a wide range of earthy tones, muted pastels and bright neon colours, predominantly in oil paints, to create her flowing and energetic pieces that invite viewers to look deeper and explore.
