Caris Pepper Original Artwork
Caris Pepper is an Australian artist, therapist, and healer whose work explores the intersections of nature, spirituality, and femininity. Raised in South Western Australia’s Great Southern coastal forest region, Caris draws on her deep connection to the natural world and her clairvoyant abilities to create paintings that translate energy, emotion, and spirit into colour and form. Her practice bridges the seen and unseen, offering a space for reflection, connection, and empowerment.
Caris has exhibited internationally, with works showcased across Australia, Indonesia, and the United States. Notable exhibitions include Autonomy: Defiance in an Age of Control at The Oculus in New York City and Women’s Celebration at Ulu Garden in Bali. She has been selected for prestigious artist residencies such as Bundanon in Australia (2025) and Eutopia Ermoupoli in Greece (2025), and her work has been recognised with awards including First Prize at the Albany Agricultural Show for contemporary porcelain painting. She was also longlisted in the top 25% of entries for the 2025 Jackson’s Art Prize, reflecting the ongoing evolution and impact of her practice.
Her work is inspired by the rhythms of the natural world, the essence of femininity, and the unseen energies that surround us. Caris draws inspiration from landscapes, light, and human experience, translating these into expressive, emotionally resonant paintings. Her Vulva Portrait Art series and forthcoming Vulva Portrait Art Oracle Card Deck celebrate feminine diversity and self-acceptance, reflecting her commitment to empowerment and healing through creative expression.
Working primarily with acrylics on canvas, Caris employs figurative abstraction, expressive colour, and gestural mark-making to interpret landscapes, people, and everyday subjects. While representational in origin, her paintings prioritise emotional resonance over realism, blending intuition, energy, and texture. Through the fluidity of her medium, each piece emerges as a channeled expression, inviting viewers to connect with both the physical and ethereal dimensions of life.
