Debra Duffy
Debra Duffy is an emerging contemporary Australian artist based at the foothills of the Blue Mountains National Park in New South Wales. Surrounded by bushland and ever-changing landscapes, she draws daily inspiration from colours, textures and intricate patterns found in nature. Her vibrant abstract landscapes invite viewers into a world of discovery.
Growing up on a farm in the rural Hawkesbury region instilled in Debra a deep appreciation of the Australian landscape and its quiet beauty. This lifelong connection to nature continues to shape her artistic practice, inspiring works that celebrate the rhythm, movement and emotion of the natural world rather than simply depicting a particular place.
Debra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from Western Sydney University.
Although she spent many years creating art privately, she made the decision to share her work professionally in recent years. Since then, her distinctive style has quickly gained recognition from collectors, galleries and the wider Australian art community.
Working primarily with acrylics and mixed media, Debra builds her paintings through layers of colour, expressive mark-making and intricate patterns. Her intuitive process embraces experimentation, allowing unexpected textures and organic forms to emerge. Every piece reflects her curiosity, joy in the creative process, and desire to reveal something new over time.
Debra's artwork has been featured on Channel 7's Dream Home, exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair Brisbane, and selected for publication in Riff Ragg, a Western Sydney arts magazine.
At the heart of Debra's work is a desire to create a sense of joy, wonder and connection. She hopes her paintings encourage viewers to slow down, look a little closer and discover the hidden patterns, colours and stories woven throughout.
