Kamara Morgan is a Yorta Yorta, Gunai Kurnai, Dja Dja Wurrung, Boonwurrung, Taungurung and Baraparapa woman. Born and raised on Yorta Yorta Country in Shepparton, she now lives on Wurundjeri Country in Melbourne with her family. Surrounded by culture from a young age, Kamara was inspired by watching her uncles paint, leading her to tell her own stories through art.
Her work blends tradition and emotion, using intricate Aboriginal styles to express stories that are deeply personal and culturally significant. Some meanings are shared, while others remain sacred and known only to Elders and artists.
