Louise O'Hara is a mixed media artist from Cheshire, England whose evocative works have been exhibited in galleries across the UK. Working from a studio brimming with vintage fabrics, hand-painted papers, typewriters, threads, and treasured books, Louise draws inspiration from the world around her — and the worlds that came before.
During her Masters in Fashion and Textiles, Louise discovered the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi — finding beauty in imperfection and transience. This concept became the heartbeat of her practice. Each piece is built through collage, hand stitching, and drawing, layering fabrics and papers to create works rich with texture, history, and quiet emotion.
Vintage and discarded materials are woven throughout her art, lending each piece a sense of nostalgia and depth. Four words guide her creative spirit: trace, absence, imperfection, and serendipity.
