Tiffany Blaise
Tiffany Blaise is an expressionistic landscape painter living and working in Vancouver. Her mixed media paintings capture the atmospheric and emotive qualities of coastal landscapes across the west coast and beyond. Blaise earned a BFA in 2012 from Concordia University where she studied art and design. Since then, the artist’s work has been displayed in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and Melbourne, including exhibitions at The Telus World of Science and the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair.
In the past, Blaise moved across the world to live in the creative city of Melbourne to pursue an artist residency and travel around Australia. Recently, she embarked on a 1-month residency in Newfoundland to paint the East Coast landscape. Her artwork is held in both private and public art collections internationally, and she has been awarded several grants to help foster engagement in the arts in local communities around Vancouver.
Tiffany Blaise creates expressionistic paintings of land and sea with a dream-like quality. In her practice, Blaise explores the themes of movement and transformation by reinterpreting subjects such as dramatic coastlines and swirling skies.
Her artwork unites the physical landscape with the world of the mind. "My art practice is a journey rooted in the exploration of thoughts and nature. I want to portray the connection between our inner nature and the landscape that surrounds us."She sources imagery of luminous landscapes and seascapes while adventuring around British Columbia and abroad. Tiffany aims to help people surround themselves with uplifting and emotive artwork that connects them to their favourite places.
