Painting Description

This collection represents my favorite flower, the Banksia.

The Banksia are noted for their unique flowering and the thing I love most is that there are so many different elements to this Australian wild flower.

The flower itself is made up of so many different elements like spikes, spirally arranges and fruity cones that form abstract shapes and the flower itself has hundreds and sometimes thousands of tiny individual flowers grouped together that make one big flower.

The colours are derived from all the different types of banksias. There are so many different species of Banksia Flowers, perhaps up to 173 species.
