Her lifelong intrigue with various letterforms and artistic styles has propelled her to engage in extensive studies with contemporary European master calligraphers across Belgium, Germany, Austria, and Russia. A pivotal visit to China further infused her work with a robust Asian influence, becoming a hallmark of her creations. 

For numerous decades, her artistic expressions have drawn deeply from traditional Chinese masters and the delicate balance of Japanese Sumi-e painting, whilst simultaneously intertwining with the edgy abstract expressionism championed by renowned artists such as Kline, Pollock, Rothko, Gottlieb, Motherwell, and Jasper Johns. This unique amalgamation has birthed Chris's contemporary style, a unique fusion that abstractly interprets various influences through her adept usage of diverse mediums such as gesso, resist, watercolor, gouache, text, encaustic, collaged paper, and strategic accents of gold leaf. 

Hailing originally from Chicago, IL, Chris’s educational journey in art traversed through San Jose State University and Cal Poly Humboldt, culminating in a BFA in Creative Arts and Design, accomplished Magna Cum Laude. Her professional affiliations weave through various esteemed organizations such as Friends of Calligraphy in San Francisco, CA; Sumi Society of America; and the Fine Art Trade Guild in the UK, reflecting her dedication and position within the artistic community.
